Last year, they commenced on another new chapter, as they expand their IT organization within Cybersecurity, IT Services and Business Services. As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you will assume the lead responsibility for the Modern Workplace initiatives of the company.
The Department
The IT Services department currently consists of two teams, an Infrastructure and a ServiceDesk team, which consists of 14 employees. During last year, Group IT has grown in all areas and employees were added to the IT Services teams. The company also expects the department will continue to grow within the next year and you will play a big role in defining and shaping a future IT Services organization that supports their IT strategy. Overall, they seek to implement a setup based on specialist profiles on a greater scale compared to previously. This, among other things, will also help to greatly impact the goal of establishing a Cloud Center of Excellence.
The IT Services department is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting endpoints, servers, and networks to ensure stable and secure IT operations in a hybrid-cloud environment. They provide technical support and assistance to users within the organization, addressing troubleshooting and problem-solving needs. The department plays a crucial role in integrating and onboarding newly acquired companies into their systems and services. Additionally, they work closely with the Security Operations Center to proactively address cybersecurity risks.
The IT organization in the company is a Global IT organization with employees in 9 countries, who supports all their 80 companies. The position
You will be employed in a newly created role as a Modern Workplace Engineer, situated in the IT service department, with direct reporting to the Head of IT Services.
You will spearhead the design, deployment, and management of Microsoft Endpoint Management solutions, with a keen focus on Intune, Autopilot, Configuration Manager, and Endpoint Analytics. Simultaneously, you will drive the design and optimization of M365 solutions, incorporating Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Power Platform to create a unified, stable, and secure user experience for our employees.
With your profound knowledge of endpoint management as well as the M365 landscape, you will be a central part of setting the strategic direction and outlining central guidelines for the use of M365 and how its use can be optimized regarding security, operations and so forth.
As the pivotal Modern Workplace Engineer in our organization, your role is not only instrumental but also strategically aligned with our overarching objective of advancing and enhancing our Modern Workplace platform. Bearing in mind the company’s ambitious merger and acquisition (M&A) strategy, your expertise will be paramount in ensuring the seamless integration and support of these initiatives.
Leveraging your effective communication and documentation skills, you will provide crucial technical support and guidance to 1st and 2nd level support as well as stakeholders in operations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and receive support from one of our strategic Microsoft implementation partners, enhancing the depth and breadth of your impact. Responsibilities
As Modern Workplace Engineer, your primary responsibility will be:
- Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Endpoint Management solutions. This includes a solid experience working with Intune. A good understanding of Autopilot, Configuration Manager, and Endpoint Analytics will be a big plus as well.
- Design, deploy, and manage M365 solutions, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Power Platform
- Integrate Microsoft Endpoint Management and M365 solutions with other cloud and on-premises services, such as Active Directory, Conditional Access, Hybrid Azure AD Join, and Azure Information Protection
- Provide technical support and guidance to 1st and 2nd level support and stakeholders in operations, using effective communication and documentation skills.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in Microsoft Endpoint Management and M365, and proactively suggest improvements and enhancements.
Educational background
Your educational background is not what matters the most. Preferably, you have a relevant education within IT, e.g. computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience
It is imperative that you have:
- At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Endpoint Management and M365, preferably in a hybrid environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Management and M365 features, functionalities, and best practices, Hereof, it will be of great importance that you have a solid understanding of Intune.
- Experience with Azure AD, Conditional Access, Hybrid Azure AD Join, and Azure Information Protection
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Certifications in Microsoft Endpoint Management and M365 are a plus.
